Avenue 416/El Monte Way Road Widening Project | Dinuba, Ca

The Avenue 416/EI Monte Way Widening Project area extends along the portion of El Monte Way located between Road 56 on the west end and Road 80/Alta Avenue on the east, near downtown Dinuba, California. Currently El Monte Way from Road 56 to Road 72/Englehart Avenue is a two-lane rural highway with limited parking and no pedestrian facilities; the segment from Road 72/Englehart Avenue to Road 80/Alta Avenue is largely four lanes with limited parking and significant pedestrian facilities. The Project will change the street into a five-lane section consisting of four through lanes, a continuous two-way left turn lane, limited on-street parking, complete ADA compliant pedestrian facilities and four new signalized intersections. Sidewalks will be provided on each side of the street within the urbanized areas and will vary in width and location. In addition, the Project also includes many other improvements that include master planned storm drain, water, and sanitary sewer facilities, storm water facilities and street lighting.

The project will widen the existing Avenue 413/El Monte Way to a four-lane street with wide medians and turn pockets at intersections. The project also includes the construction of retaining walls and sound walls, installing street lights along the project as well as new traffic signals. The project also includes the construction of three drainage basins, water and sewer mains along the project, a large box culvert, and realigning a portion of the Traver Canal to accommodate the street widening.

The overall project will be completed in two phases. Phase 1 is from Alta Avenue to Road 56 West, and Phase II is from Alta Avenue to Road 92 East.
