De Anza High School – New Replacment Campus | Richmond, Ca
The project site encompasses 33 acres and will consist of several free-standing structures totaling 200,000 square feet. A bridge, entryway and corridor will interconnect a cluster of specialty and general classroom buildings to a theatre building, a cafeteria facility and a gymnasium with two gyms. Each building varies in size, shape and purpose.
The buildings are slab-on-grade with a spread footing foundation, structural steel support and metal framing. The exterior façade will be a combination of color-coated plaster finish, thin brick-appearing tile that was especially designed to resist graffiti and a composite panel system. The walls are drywall with plastic laminate wainscot. Most of the classroom buildings will have an acoustical T-bar ceiling, but there is exposed structure in the gymnasium building, linear metal ceilings, acoustical metal pan ceilings and acoustical clouds located in various buildings throughout the campus.
The Campus includes the following buildings:
The school district is not seeking LEED certification for the project but wanted the new De Anza High School campus to be LEED compliant at least.
Future plans will be Linked Building No. 10 with additional baseball and softball fields.
